The reason I know this is that these people will send you a generic email address and a fictional phone number as in the above case of Mr Greg Brown.  The phone number belongs to a private person in Minnesota NOT the Bank of America AND the email address bounces as address unknown!!!!!!

Be careful.  DO NOT answer any address request for an email !!!!

Quick fridge defrost

I have just defrosted my old fridge in a hurry. Switched it off, waited half an hour then got impatient. Switched on hairdryer and all the ice went in less than half an hour. WOW. Fridge is back in service and I didn't have to store the frozen stuff in the cooler while the ice was melting. 
The hot water in bowls, etc. works OK but too messy and the hair drier blows hot air and when aimed at the joins works quickly and you can then make a wick with a cloth to a bucket when the water melts. I live in Africa where there is a drought. The water goes onto my plants.

Imagine having this in your back yard

Flora Centre Stupidity

Saw something really daft at Flora Shopping Centre. 

They have revamped the shopping centre which was badly needed BUT when they installed the new escalators the architects decided to put two steps up to the base of the escalator. 


Now I wonder what the point of those two steps are if the escalator is there to make your life easier, especially for older people. 


It would make more sense to have a short ramp approaching the base of the escalator OR maybe they should just have done their measurements properly and installed the escalator correctly.

I mean if you are going to spend millions on an upgrade surely spending an extra R100 000 on proper escalators would be worth it.
